Transforming Lives.

Breaking Cycles.

Healing Generations.

Our ministry is dedicated to transforming the lives of the incarcerated and their families through the power of faith and the principles of 12-step recovery.

By cultivating a community of hope and resilience, we strive to break the cycles of addiction and incarceration, empowering individuals and their families to build meaningful, purposeful lives.

Our Story

Step to Faith was founded by Chaplain Danny Castillo, who was in and out trouble with addiction for over 25 years and his life was changed by Christ while working the 12 steps. Now, he enters jails every week to bring the Gospel and 12-step recovery to groups, and mentor the incarcerated and their families who are ready for something real. With a raw understanding of what it’s like inside, Danny walks alongside the families and individuals post-release as well. The work is growing—and so are the ways to get involved.

A vision for real change.

Our vision is to see the incarcerated and their families breaking free from the cycles of addiction and incarceration. To provide spiritual guidance, emotional support, and practical resources to foster healing, transformation, and personal growth. We aspire to build a compassionate community where every individual is able to achieve spiritual, emotional, and relational wholeness, leading to lasting positive change and a legacy of hope and renewal for future generations.
